Job summary

Capital Region Water is seeking an Operator I - WW to join the Advanced Wastewater Treatment Facility team in Harrisburg. The role involves operating and maintaining plant processes on rotating shifts, with responsibilities spanning pumps, valves, meters, control panels, and data systems.

The position requires hands-on operation, laboratory analysis, and strong safety awareness, including respiratory protection.

Qualifications

Experience in wastewater treatment operations or related field.
Experience in industrial environments and exposure to hazardous conditions.
Experience performing custodial, maintenance, and preventive maintenance duties in a plant setting.
Ability to lift up to 200 pounds with assistance and participate in rescue retrieval operations.
Equivalent combination of training and experience providing required knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain the Advanced Wastewater Treatment Facility on assigned shift.
Work rotating swing shifts: days 7:00 A.M.–7:00 P.M. and nights 7:00 P.M.–7:00 A.M.
Operate pumps, valves, meters, control panels, and related equipment.
Perform laboratory analyses to assure proper operation of processes.
Monitor systems, interpret data, and adjust processes as needed.
Respond to emergencies and hazardous situations promptly and effectively.
Maintain accurate records of plant operations and data reporting.
