Job summary

The City of Boca Raton seeks a Wastewater Plant Operator to operate and maintain the city’s wastewater treatment facility in a safety-conscious, regulated environment.

The role requires appropriate Florida DEP licenses and hands-on experience with plant equipment, sampling procedures, and SCADA-driven control systems. You will contribute to protecting public health and the environment in a community-focused city.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Florida DEP Class C (or higher) wastewater license required.
• Three to five years experience in wastewater plant operation for higher licenses.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems and basic chemical dosages.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wastewater treatment plant equipment and related systems.
• Perform sampling and routine laboratory tests (pH, turbidity, TSS, ammonia).
• Follow safety, housekeeping, and preventive maintenance protocols.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with field crews as needed.
• Monitor and adjust dosing and control parameters via SCADA.
