Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA, Inc. is seeking a Wastewater Plant Operator to operate and maintain pumps, mixers, chemical feed systems, membrane equipment, and sludge dewatering equipment.

You will collect samples, perform process control tests, and monitor SCADA to keep treatment processes efficient and compliant. Responsibilities include routine facility rounds, safety checks, preventive maintenance, and accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (A.A.) or 3–6 years of related experience.
• Ability to read measurements and perform basic lab analysis.
• Knowledge of SCADA, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, operate, and maintain pumps, blowers, mixers, chemical feed systems, membrane equipment, and sludge dewatering equipment.
• Collect samples, perform process control testing, record keeping, and basic laboratory analysis.
• Monitor SCADA and control systems; adjust pumps, valves, chemical feed rates, motor speeds, flow settings, and process setpoints to maintain efficient treatment operations.
• Perform routine rounds of the treatment facility, observing equipment conditions and identifying operational abnormalities, mechanical issues, or safety concerns.
• Assist with preventive maintenance activities.
• Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings and test results to determine load requirements.
• Communicate operational status, process changes, equipment issues, and ongoing projects during shift turnover to ensure continuous plant operation.
• Safely handle and apply chemicals including polymers, disinfectants, coagulants, and nutrient removal chemicals.
• Pushes/pulls 2500-pound totes using a hand jack and lift 50+ pounds.
• Performs QA/QC tests according to DNR specifications.
• Use of hand/power tools, skid-loader, truck, and snow removal equipment.
• Follow all safety, environmental, food safety, and company policies while contributing to a safe and compliant workplace.
• Fill in as needed for vacation relief.
