Job summary

Veolia is seeking an Operations Superintendent for the Springfield Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility. You will lead a team of operators and supervisors, manage budgets, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate with maintenance for PM/CM work and capital upgrades.

The role requires extensive experience in wastewater treatment, strong leadership, and a proven track record in safety and operations management.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED is required.
Massachusetts Grade 7C Wastewater Operators License required.
Minimum of ten (10) years working experience in a wastewater treatment facility.
Five (5) years of supervisory/managerial experience.

Responsibilities

Evaluates and oversees wastewater treatment operation and staff performance to meet contractual and regulatory requirements.
Develops and monitors KPIs, and prepares weekly/monthly operations reports.
Directs biosolids handling, dewatering and drying processes; coordinates sludge management for disposal options.
Ensures cost control, quality adherence, and compliance with laws and company standards.
Coordinates with maintenance for PM/CM work and capital upgrades.
Defines capital improvement needs and oversees contractor coordination and project planning.
