Job summary

Waggoner Engineering, Inc. seeks an Operations Manager to lead the Greenville, Mississippi wastewater treatment plant and collection system.

You will direct daily operations, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement to protect community infrastructure. Responsibilities include leading operations staff, managing budgets, coordinating with regulatory agencies, and supporting EPA consent decree-related activities.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and team supervision experience
• Proven ability to interpret regulatory data and plant performance metrics
• Experience managing budgets and capital planning is preferred
• Knowledge of NPDES permits and environmental regulations is essential

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the daily operations of the wastewater treatment plant and related facilities.
• Ensure compliance with all permits, including NPDES requirements and environmental standards.
• Monitor plant performance, data, and laboratory results to optimize treatment efficiency.
• Develop and implement operational procedures, preventive maintenance, and emergency plans.
• Lead staff, set performance expectations, and coordinate training and on-call rotations
• Serve as liaison with regulatory agencies and municipal leadership.
