Job summary

The City of Sunnyvale is hiring a Water Pollution Control Plant Mechanic to perform journey-level mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical and instrumentation work at the wastewater treatment plant. The role may be assigned to mechanical or instrumentation (SCADA) functions and reports to a Senior WPC Mechanic or the WPC Maintenance Manager.

Qualifications

• Three years of journey-level experience in maintenance of heavy industrial machinery.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical and instrumentation tasks.
• Possession of valid California driver's license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain plant equipment including pumps, conveyors and grinders.
• Overhaul electrical, electro-mechanical and instrumentation systems for wastewater facilities.
• Maintain records, prepare work orders and assist in safety trainings.
• Assist in contacting vendors and maintaining parts inventory.
