Job summary

The City of Sunnyvale seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the Environmental Services Department’s Wastewater Operations Division. You will oversee engineering programs, 14 field staff, and capital projects, balancing operations with long-term infrastructure planning.

Candidates should have strong leadership, regulatory compliance experience, and the ability to collaborate with engineers, field crews, contractors, and developers. This is an on-site leadership position with no remote work option.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil, chemical, mechanical, or environmental engineering.
• Six years of professional engineering experience, including two years in supervision.
• Professional Engineer license in California is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and manage Wastewater Operations Division activities.
• Oversee capital improvement projects from planning to completion.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
