Job summary

The City of San José's Environmental Services Department is recruiting a Senior Wastewater Mechanic I/II for the San José-Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility. This role leads preventive maintenance of large mechanical and electrical equipment and directs a team of Wastewater Mechanics and Attendants on 5x8 or 4x10 schedules.

Ideal candidates have journey-level mechanical experience, be licensed in California, and familiar with CMMS/SCADA systems.

Qualifications

• Three years journey-level mechanic experience in hydraulics or wastewater.
• Experience with large engines, power generators, and related equipment.
• Valid California Class C driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform preventive maintenance on mechanical/electrical equipment.
• Train and supervise lower-level staff; assign and monitor work.
• Maintain records and reports; support 24/7 operations.
