Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking a Wastewater Operator to manage water flows and operate plant equipment and biological systems. You will perform tests, oversee chemical dosing, and coordinate with maintenance and the Plant Manager.

This role requires at least a high school diploma or GED and 1 year of relevant experience; there is opportunity to pursue a wastewater certificate. On-site work in Virginia with a focus on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a rendering facility or production environment.
• Willing to obtain wastewater certificate.

Responsibilities

• Proper operation of evaporator.
• Proper operation of plant skimmer.
• Chemical inventory and addition throughout wastewater treatment processes.
• Perform wastewater test as needed.
• Control flows throughout wastewater treatment processes.
• Monitor aerators and mixers.
• Disinfection system operation.
• Dumps a container of grease solids using a forklift.
