Qualifications

• Two years of full-time, paid work experience equivalent to a Water/Wastewater Operator.
• Possession of a California Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certificate (SWRCB).
• Valid Class C driver’s license (or equivalent).
• Meet minimum qualifications and filing requirements by the deadline.
• Copy of required certificate(s) from SWRCB must be submitted with your application.
• Mechanical experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Operates and monitors SCADA systems; adjusts settings and reports anomalies.
• Monitors plant operations to ensure environmental and public health standards.
• Interprets readings from meters and gauges; makes process adjustments as needed.
• Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on plant equipment.
• Collects samples for laboratory tests and performs basic analyses.
• Operates valves, pumps, and automated controls to regulate wastewater flow.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area and secures equipment at close of day.
