Responsibilities

• Assist with the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant and collection system.
• Assist with plant performance, operational reports and laboratory data.
• Perform inspection, maintenance, repair, and locating work on collection lines and pump stations.
• Perform preventive maintenance and minor equipment repairs.
• Inspect facilities and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Respond to alarms and operational issues under the direction of certified operators.
• Follow all safety procedures and environmental regulations.
• Participate in training programs and complete certification requirements.

Position Summary

The Wastewater Operator in Training (OIT) assists certified operators in the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of the wastewater treatment facility and collection system. Under direct supervision, the successful candidate will learn treatment processes, equipment operation, preventive maintenance, laboratory sampling, and regulatory compliance while working toward professional certification.

• Assist with the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant and collection system.
