Job summary

Inframark is seeking a Wastewater Operator III to operate and maintain equipment at mid-to-large water/wastewater facilities in Oklahoma City. The role requires a valid Oklahoma B wastewater license and a strong operations background.

You will perform testing, monitor processes, respond to emergencies after hours, train staff, and coordinate maintenance while ensuring SOP and safety compliance. CDL may be preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 4 years water/wastewater experience.
• Valid Driver’s License; Water/Wastewater Operator’s License per site requirements.
• Follow manuals and operating instructions; basic instrumentation knowledge.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and internet.

Responsibilities

• Operates valves, pumps, motors, belt presses, disinfection equipment and other facilities equipment.
• Performs routine testing, monitoring, troubleshooting and maintenance of water/wastewater systems.
• Documents plant performance including daily flow and chemical usage; maintains records.
• Responds to after-hours emergencies to repair treatment equipment and electrical supports.
• Maintains plant grounds and safety; supports SOP compliance and staff safety.
• Trains employees on proper plant operations, repair and installation techniques and safe work practices.
• Communicates with clients and customers on routine technical aspects of operations.
• May coordinate maintenance activities at the facility.
• Willing to work all shifts, including weekends, holidays and 24-hour on-call.

Job description

The Wastewater Operator III is responsible for the operation and maintenance of equipment at medium to large sized water/wastewater facilities.

Oklahoma B Wastewater License required.

Responsibilities

• Operates a variety of equipment/machinery including: valves, pumps, motors, belt presses, disinfection equipment, vehicles, etc.
• Conducts routine testing, monitoring, troubleshooting and maintenance of production wells, water/wastewater.
• Performs and documents treatment process and maintenance of treatment facility equipment to assure proper operations and documents. Documents plant performance including daily flow and chemical usage.
• Responds to call outs and after-hours emergencies to repair treatment equipment, pumps, motors, sensing devices, instrumentation and electrical support.
• Ensures facilities are secure. Cleans and maintains treatment plant grounds when necessary.
• Trains employees on proper plant operations, repair and installation techniques, SOPs and safe work practices.
• Provides customer service functions when necessary.
• Communicates with client and customers related to routine technical aspects of operations.
• May coordinate maintenance activities at the treatment facility.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Willing to work all shifts, including: weekends, holidays, evening and 24-hour emergency on call.

Education/Experience

High School Diploma or GED and 4 years water/wastewater experience.

Licenses/Certifications

Valid Driver’s License (CDL preferred). Water/Wastewater Operator’s License specific to state and site-specific requirements. Other licenses may vary according to specific site and assignments.

Technical

Ability to follow manual & operating instructions. Advanced knowledge of water/wastewater. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications & internet.
