Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must be able to work in varied temperatures and conditions with PPE.
• Must be able to perform job duties with or without accommodations.
• Ability to work extended hours Mon–Sat with daily overtime; start times vary by production needs.
• Must complete SQF, GMPs, HACCP, SOPs and Food defense training.

Responsibilities

• Identify and locate parts/part numbers from manuals or catalogs.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to keep machines and systems running smoothly.
• Assemble, install, or repair plumbing and equipment as needed.
• Complete paperwork (PM sheets, work orders).
• Notify lead or supervisor of malfunctions or repairs.
• Troubleshoot centrifugal (chopper) and positive displacement pumps.
• Understand wastewater treatment processes, sampling, and testing procedures.

Overview

Long Prairie Packing Company, LLC., an American Foods Group Company, has opportunities for a Wastewater Operator. As our Wastewater Operator, you will:

• Identify and locate parts/part numbers from machinery or equipment manuals or parts catalogs (e.g. Cryovac, overhead chains, rail switches, conveyors, saws, etc.).
• Knowledge of and ability to perform basic welding (e.g. primarily tig; some mig and stick).
• Ability to identify good and bad welds.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance (e.g. grease bearings, lubricate, check fluid levels, replace filters, etc.) to ensure that machines run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
• Assemble, install, or repair plumbing (e.g. threading pipe), equipment or machinery to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair.
• Complete necessary paperwork (PM sheets, work orders, etc.).
• Notify lead or supervisor of any malfunctions or repairs needed.
• Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot centrifugal (chopper) and positive displacement pumps.
• Knowledge of wastewater treatment, sampling, and testing procedures, including process flow.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must be able to work in a variety of work temperatures warm, hot, humid, cold, wet or with slippery surfaces at varied heights in and around moving equipment and parts with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Must be able to perform the job duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to work extended scheduled hours Monday through Saturday with daily overtime.
• Must be able to work overtime as required. Start times and hours vary based on production needs.
• Must be able to successfully complete training:Safety.Safe Quality Food (SQF).Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP).Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Food defense.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior quality assurance experience in a USDA inspected beef, pork, or poultry facility.
• Prior production experience.
• Work history in the last 12 months.
