Job summary

Orange County Utilities, Water Reclamation Division, is seeking a Wastewater Operator A (Operations Specialist) in the South and East Water Reclamation Plants. The role coordinates shift activities, ensures permit compliance, and supports staff scheduling and PM planning.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and 3 years in water/wastewater; preferred candidate holds a FDEP A wastewater license and has proficiency with Maximo, Kronos, and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent and three (3) years of water or wastewater plant experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
• Possess and maintain a FDEP A wastewater license
• Must be able to comply with Health and Safety Manual requirements
• Must complete leadership development and trainer certification programs within specified timelines

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities performed by the work unit and schedule work to maintain facilities in efficient operating condition.
• Review work performed by trades and respond to emergencies to correct operating problems.
• Assist with staff scheduling, training and capital project coordination.
• Lead in implementing task efficiencies and facilitate daily operations and maintenance meetings.
• Ensure timely performance of shifts' operational duties and QA/QC permit reports (DMR, etc).
• Plan and schedule operational PM work orders and data entry for DMRs.
