Job summary

Monterey One Water is seeking an entry and trainee level Maintenance Worker I/II for our facilities in California. You will assist with maintenance, repair, and custodial tasks on agency buildings, grounds, and pumping station equipment under supervision.

Ideal candidates are self-starters with good communication and teamwork skills, capable of performing basic mechanical work and learning safety procedures to keep facilities safe and operational.

Qualifications

• Two years of building and grounds maintenance experience is desirable for Maintenance Worker I; four years for Maintenance Worker II.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the maintenance and repair of buildings, ground, plant facilities, and lift stations; performs a variety of semi-skilled and heavy physical labor.
• Inspects buildings, offices, and yards for safety hazards, and maintenance needs.
• Cleans and removes debris and trash from parking lots, buildings and yards; washes vehicles and cleans interiors; pressure cleans heavy equipment, trucks and tools.
• Repairs plumbing leaks and clogged drains.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
