Summary Description

Operate and maintain a wastewater treatment facility. Maintenance/ preventative maintenance of equipment, lab testing necessary to maintain water treatment parameters, and making process control adjustments.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain and perform maintenance activities on wastewater treatment equipment.
• Operate treatment facility according to the regulations set forth by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.
• Monitor and record gauges, meters, valves, gates, and control panels.
• Collect samples and perform routine laboratory tests and analyses.
• Observe variations in operating conditions and test results to determine processing requirements.
• Make operating decisions as necessary if supervisory personnel are absent.
• Operate a forklift when required.
• Use all personal protective equipment provided by the company in compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education/Experience/Qualification

• Maintenance/electrical background,
• Ability to work on your own.
• Basic math skills and understanding of various units of measurement.

Physical

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Must be able to pass all medical exams, drug and background checks (including criminal).
• Must be capable of working from a ladder or other type of elevated working surface.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be capable of mixed indoor/outdoor work.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to work required hours and shifts, including working weekends, overtime and on holidays.
• Be on call.
• Be able to effectively work in a team environment.
