Job description

The Warn group believes that every team member plays a significant contribution role in our success. We enable our customers with the tools they need to work and play outdoors. This position description is designed to outline the primary duties of the role, qualifications, and job scope. Just as we do not want our customers to be limited in the outdoor space, we do not want to limit our employees nor the organization to just the work that is identified. It is our expectation that each team member will serve their customers wherever, whenever necessary to ensure the success of our endeavors.

Position Summary:

At the Warn Group, we're proud to lead the way in vehicle recovery and off-roading equipment through our family of premium brands. We're looking for a hands-on, dependable individual to join our team as a Wastewater Technician - no prior maintenance experience or certifications required. If you're ready to learn, willing to work hard, and don't mind getting a little dirty, we'll provide all the training you need.

Essential Functions:

As a Wastewater Technician, you'll be a key part of keeping our systems running smoothly. Here's what a typical day might include:

  • Assist with daily operation and upkeep of our wastewater treatment systems.
  • Check equipment like pumps, motors, valves - and report anything unusual.
  • Clean tanks, screens, and basins to keep everything running efficiently.
  • Collect, label and transport water samples for basic lab testing.
  • Monitor meters, gauges, and control panels.
  • Support preventive maintenance - oil changes, greasing, filter replacements, and more.
  • Safely use basic hand and power tools.
  • Keep detailed and accurate logs, reports, and work orders.
  • Help track inventory for parts, tools, and chemicals.
  • Spot potential safety hazards and report them quickly.
  • Respond to minor system alerts with team support.
  • Jump in during emergencies - being a helping hand with spills or equipment failures.
  • Work safely with hazardous materials and in confined spaces (training provided).
  • Pitch in on special projects or upgrades when needed.

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to read, write, and do basic math.
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn new skills.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all types of weather.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and do manual work.
  • A dependable, team-first mindset with a positive attitude.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, or be on-call when needed.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude is great - but not required.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to stay focused in a busy, fast-moving environment.
  • Strong ethics and ability to work independently.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
  • Willingness to follow and promote safety standards and Warn's core values: Safety, Compliance, Quality, Agility, Culture, & People Development.

Language Skills:

Able to read, write, speak, and understand instructions and communications in English. Comfortable sharing information clearly in both one-on-one and group settings with team members and customers. Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills are important for working effectively as part of a team.

Mathematical Skills:

Must have basic math and computation skills consistent with a high school education or equivalent.

Physical and Visual Activities:

This role requires regular physical activity, including standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, and using hands and fingers. You'll also need to talk and hear clearly and have good vision - including near and far acuity, depth perception, and the ability to see a full range of colors.
