Job description

We are seeking an Equipment Operator with a Class B CDL to support wastewater treatment plant operations, equipment operation, and preventive and corrective maintenance. Experience in industrial facilities preferred.

Pay: $24.00- $26.00 per hour DOE

Responsibilities:

• Operate loading and hauling equipment, including front-end loader, forklift, and Class B trucks
• Assist in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant and related facilities
• Operate treatment systems, valves, gates, and pumps to control and adjust flow and processing of wastewater, sludge, and effluent
• Monitor plant and equipment operations by reading meters, gauges, and control panels; identify and respond to changes in operating conditions
• Perform preventive and routine maintenance, including lubrication, oil changes, meter readings, equipment inspections, and custodial duties
• Perform or assist with corrective maintenance and repairs on buildings, structures, grounds, machinery, pumps, valves, motors, engines, and related equipment
• Report, diagnose, and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and failures; assist with major and minor repairs and help prevent recurrence
• Perform basic plumbing, pipe fitting, cleaning, painting, and facility appearance tasks; use welding equipment to heat, cut, braze, or weld when trained and authorized
• Collect water and wastewater samples and conduct assigned quality-control testing
• Complete work orders and maintain shift logs, maintenance records, and other operational documentation; close work orders in the CMMS
• Understand and carry out oral and written directions; maintain cooperative working relationships with team members and others encountered in the course of work
• Follow all required safety practices and use appropriate PPE
• Perform other duties as required

Required:

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Current CDL to operate Class B commercial vehicles
• Forklift and mobile-equipment operating experience
• Good work ethic, willingness to learn, and mechanical aptitude
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to enter data into maintenance management systems

Preferred:

• Experience in industrial facilities
