Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking a Wastewater Director of Engineering for the Mid-Atlantic region. This role directs the regional Engineering Department to deliver a multi‑million dollar capital program across water and wastewater facilities, stations and pipelines.

The position requires a PE license, extensive project leadership experience, and the ability to work cross-functionally with operations, regulators and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering.
• 15+ years of experience managing water/wastewater design and construction projects.
• 5+ years leading multi-faceted teams.
• Experience with alternative project delivery methods (design-build, IPD) and contracting methods (GMP, reimbursable).

Responsibilities

• Direct the Mid-Atlantic Engineering Department to deliver the regional capital plan (water/wastewater upgrades).
• Hire, supervise and mentor the Engineering Team.
• Coordinate with regulators on compliance and rate filings as needed.
• Support business development and external stakeholder engagement.
• Ensure design specifications meet Environmental Health & Safety standards.
• Oversee permitting with local staff and agencies.
• Monitor delivery metrics and optimize project delivery methods.
• Provide monthly capital project status reports to management.
• Travel to multiple sites within a 30‑mile radius of local offices.
