Job summary

The City of Peoria is seeking a motivated Utility System Operator II for Wastewater Collection at the Municipal Operations Center in Peoria, AZ. This full-time role involves lift station operations, inspections, hydro-cleaning, and pump maintenance to ensure reliable service to the community.

The ideal candidate will be committed, able to work with others, and willing to obtain required ADEQ certifications (Grade I on hire; Grade II within 1 year) and a valid Arizona CDL with Tanker/HazMat

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of previous experience in a similar or same role.
• Valid Arizona Class A CDL with Tanker and HazMat endorsements within 6 months of hire.
• Must obtain ADEQ Grade II Wastewater Collection Certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate lift stations and perform preventive maintenance.
• Conduct sewer system inspections and hydro-cleaning.
• Perform CCTV inspections and manhole inspections.
• Maintain pumps and respond to emergency wastewater issues.
• Troubleshoot wastewater collection system problems.
