Job Responsibilities

1. Determine processing requirements; sample influent and effluent at various processing stages, identify problems, and ensure proper operation of the Activated Sludge treatment plant.
2. Prioritize, schedule, and complete tasks within specified deadlines.
3. Perform routine operator functions.
4. Meet guidelines and requirements for wastewater treatment facilities.
5. Make mathematical calculations and draw logical conclusions.
6. Communicate effectively with a diverse group of people.
7. Proficiently perform computerized word processing, comprehension, summarizing, and editing.
8. Attend or conduct meetings as needed.
9. Supervise technical staff; schedule, train, evaluate performance, and review work for standards compliance.
10. Maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and the public.
11. Maintain and calibrate monitoring equipment such as BOD, TSS, pH, Turbidity, and flow meters.
12. Generate reports on influent and effluent quality for the Superintendent.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least three (3) years of relevant industry experience.
• Ability to calculate chemical dosing and solutions.

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions

• Physical requirements may include lifting up to 35 lbs., team lifting 50 lbs., climbing, extended sitting and standing, stooping, stretching, or bending.
• Must be able to sit and concentrate for extended periods.
• Experience working with diverse cultures in challenging environments.
