Job summary

Nortera, a North American leader in ready-to-cook vegetables, seeks a wastewater technician to operate and maintain our treatment systems in Bergen, NY. You will monitor processes, perform lab analyses, and ensure compliance with safety and GMP standards on a fast-paced production floor.

Weekend/off-shift flexibility and a valid driver’s license are preferred, with overtime opportunities during peak seasons and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Safety protocols compliance and GMP awareness.

• Strong mechanical aptitude for maintenance.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to work weekends and off-shifts; valid driver’s license.
• Wastewater experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the wastewater treatment system in compliance with NYSDEC SPDES permit requirements.
• Monitor pond levels, manage discharge, and follow spray field programs.
• Perform lab testing, process control, and microscopic analysis of bacteria.
• Maintain pumps, pipelines, and air systems; complete routine sampling and inspections.
• Execute preventative maintenance and manage parts inventory.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, GMPs, and quality protocols while supporting production operations.

• Pay or shift range: $22 USD to $30 USD
  The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

Your daily role:
