Job summary

Reworld Waste in Derwood, MD is seeking a dedicated general laborer to safely and efficiently perform duties at a municipal solid waste transfer station. You will follow safety policies, operate on-site equipment checks, and assist residents and customers on tipping floors.

Flexible to rotating shifts, including weekends, with opportunities for growth. Responsibilities include site maintenance, directing traffic, and providing quality customer service while adhering to OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; GED Works program available
• Must be able to work rotating shifts, including weekends
• Experience at OSHA-regulated sites preferred
• Strong customer service skills to meet expectations
• Professional, courteous demeanor toward customers and co-workers

Responsibilities

• Provide safety guidance and PPE compliance on site
• Direct residents to proper disposal locations on tipping floor
• Inspect according to state-mandated Waste Ban Regulations
• Direct traffic for residents and commercial vehicles
• Perform general site maintenance and minor repairs
• Conduct pre/post-operation equipment checks
• Support ongoing transfer-station operations
• Deliver courteous customer service to residents unloading items
• Follow supervisor instructions for facility inspections
• Enforce Reworld safety policies and procedures
