Job summary

Hentzen Coatings, Inc. is seeking a Waste Technician to support safe, compliant waste management across multiple facilities in Milwaukee, WI.

You will identify, label, collect and store hazardous and non-hazardous waste, while ensuring regulatory compliance with RCRA, DOT and OSHA standards. The role requires operating forklifts and waste handling systems, coordinating with vendors, and maintaining PPE, records, and housekeeping.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience operating sit-down forklifts in an industrial setting.
• Experience in chemical manufacturing, waste management, janitorial services, or facility housekeeping preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage Hazardous and Non‑Hazardous Waste Streams.
• Identify, segregate, label, stream, and manage waste materials per standards.
• Wear PPE while handling waste and support waste management across facilities.
• Perform Waste Collection and Facility Housekeeping Activities.
• Collect indoor and outdoor garbage, recyclables, and production waste.
• Operate Industrial Equipment and Waste Handling Systems.
• Safely operate forklifts, mixers, and waste handling equipment.
• Support Waste Consolidation and Vendor Coordination.
• Coordinate with environmental vendors and consolidate waste.
• Manage PPE, Supplies, and Waste Inventory.
• Restock PPE, spill supplies, labels, drums, totes, and housekeeping materials.
• Perform Outdoor and Seasonal Environmental Duties.
• Work outdoors year‑round and support seasonal tasks.
• Maintain Environmental Training and Regulatory Compliance.
• Achieve and maintain required certifications and follow procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area; comply with safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
