The Waste & Streets Management Technician II is responsible forassisting in the service of waste and streets operations. Workingboth independently and as a team, exercising good judgment anddiscretion is essential to this job.
This position requires a high school degree or GED. 2+ years’experience in grounds maintenance or maintenance preferred.Well-developed communications skills. CDL preferred and reputabledriving record. Waste or Street maintenance experience and skills,desired. State Driver’s license and insurable with company’s agent.Must be able to understand and follow instructions, and work underlimited supervision. Must be able to work well with the public andco-workers and present a positive attitude. Exceptionalself-management. Desire to work with a team to accomplish goals.Urgency to grow and improve. Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite(Outlook, Word, Excel) and excellent computer skills are desired.Clean and professional appearance. Must be courteous, detailedoriented. Self-motivated, diligent, trustworthy, possess strongorganizational and planning skills and well-developed communicationskills. Must be able to lift up to 50+ pounds and perform duties ofthe Grounds maintenance trade in typical Virginia climate.Certifications obtained while employed by Liberty University at theexpense of the employer will be reimbursed back to the Universityupon voluntary termination (resignation) for the first 12 monthsafter acquiring it. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, anacceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required. Must beable to work on weekends, holidays, and flexible daily hours aswell as various evening hours. Working conditions will include aconsiderable exposure to unusual elements, such as extremetemperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, andloud/constant noise levels.
