Job summary

The City of Daphne is seeking a Solid Waste Route Operator to operate and maintain equipment for residential/commercial solid waste collection and recycling. You will plan routes, monitor performance, and assist with recycling facility sorting and bale operations, ensuring safe, efficient daily operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1 year of experience or training in equipment operation and solid waste collection, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks and equipment for collection, transport, and disposal of solid waste; load materials and ensure safe placement on trucks.
• Plan daily routes and schedules for efficiency; monitor routes and customer needs; provide back-door service when required.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report mechanical issues; ensure safe operation in various weather conditions.
