Job summary

City of Auburn, AL is seeking an Environmental Services Technician—Solid Waste to perform waste collection on assigned routes, operate and maintain equipment, and inspect vehicles daily under the Solid Waste Division Manager.

A high school diploma or equivalent and 1–3 years of experience are required, plus a valid Class B CDL. This is regular full-time, on-site work in outdoor environments with moderate to heavy physical demands.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 1–3 years of experience in a related role.
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License.
• Knowledge of local streets and collection procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs collection and disposal duties along premeditated routes.
• Performs equipment operation and maintenance duties.
• Inspects and maintains assigned vehicle daily.
• Performs repairs and maintenance on carts, compactors, and bins.
• Performs other related job duties as assigned.
