Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Associate's degree in Chemistry or Environmental Science preferred.
  • BA or BS degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience with hazardous materials.
  • 1+ years of experience managing a team.
  • 2+ years of experience sampling and receiving hazardous waste.
  • Forklift certified with safe driving record preferred.
  • Knowledge of RCRA, DOT, EPA and state waste regulations.
  • Ability to operate pallet jack to load/unload trucks.
  • Ability to read and respond to written and verbal English.
  • Ability to lead an hourly team.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain operational documentation including reports, licenses, procedures, DOT requirements, and order requirements.
  • Supervise team of technicians and oversee large projects and orders from receipt to settlement.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments and supplies with other sites.
  • Manage scheduled pickups and deliveries and communicate with customer service team.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local permit requirements.
  • Provide training and coaching to technicians on equipment operation and processes.

Job Description

The Waste Processing Supervisor is a key position in overseeing the details of every order and ensuring they areexecuted through effective communications within the team and outside teams, departments, customers,transporters, etc.

  • Maintain operational documentation including but not limited to reports, licenses, procedures, DOTrequirements, and order requirements.
  • Supervise team of technicians and oversee large projects and orders from receipt to settlement.
  • Communicate with other sites to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments and supplies.
  • Manage scheduled pickups and deliveries, including maintaining communication with customer service
  • team to resolve issues or clarify requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local permit requirements.
  • Communicate to management facility needs, difficulties, and changes in operations.
  • Supervise segregation and packaging material for transport along with the completion of requiredpaperwork in a legible, accurate, and timely manner in accordance with appropriate regulations and
  • Customer/Clean Earth policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Provide training and coaching to technicians and operators on-the-job in equipment operation, service line processes, and necessary paperwork.
  • Operate fork trucks and other heavy equipment when properly trained to move materials for storage/loading and off-loading.
  • Promptly report any incidents, injuries or safety concerns to management.
  • Adhere to and abide by Clean Earth safety and security policies and procedures (e.g.Cardinal Rules, JobSafety Analyses (JSAs), etc.)
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by management.
  • Responsibilities may vary based on site level and/or location.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly without assistance and up to 75 pounds unassisted on
    occasion.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 500 pounds using a pallet jack, hand truck, or other device to assist.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled
    environments.
  • Visual acuity to read labels and documentation and sufficient depth perception to safely operate forklifts.
  • Ability to hear vehicle warning chimes, alarms, and other audible safety signals.
  • Ability and willingness to wear company-issued personal protection equipment (PPE), including, but not
    limited to, safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed boots, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.
  • Ability to work overtime hours as needed based on business needs.
Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate's degree in Chemistry or Environmental Science-related field preferred
  • BA or BS degree preferred

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience working with hazardous materials
  • 1+ years of experience managing a team
  • 2+ years of experience sampling and receiving hazardous waste preferred

Skills:

  • Forklift certified with possession of safe driving record preferred
  • Knowledge of RCRA, DOT, EPA, and state waste regulations
  • Ability to operate manual equipment such as a pallet jack to load and unload trucks
  • Ability to use a computer for web-based training and inventory tracking purposes
  • Ability to understand and respond to written and verbal English

Additional Information

Starting salary - $85,000-$88,000

Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package includes paid time off policies, as well as health, dental, vision, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteering and more. In addition, commencing no later than January 1, 2027, benefits package will include participation in an employer sponsored 401(k) plan, to save for retirement. Pay and benefits for employees represented by a union are outlined in their collective bargaining agreement.
