The main responsibilities of the role are to make sure that materials are separated properly, and operating equipment for compacting and baling. The Waste Operator II will also help load waste and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety procedures. Waste Operators will also help fill empty propane tanks.Job DescriptionEssential Duties & Responsibilities:Safely sort and separate waste for proper disposalSafely Operating compactors, balers, and forklifts in a safe mannerKeep an organized and clean working area.Rework pallets. Help maintain universal waste storage areas.Use and maintain floor scrubberHelp maintain propane filling area and safely fill empty propane tanks.Be able to quarterly pass the waste management physical assessmentRequired Skills, Education, Experience:High school diploma or equivalent preferredForklift experience is a plus.Ability to work safely and efficiently.Physical RequirementsPhysical activities may occasionally include:Remaining in stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods of time.Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.Physical activities may constantly include:Communicating with others to exchange information.Repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of work assigned.Environmental Conditions may occasionally include:Noisy open office environmentWork Hours (Good Faith Estimate):This full-time position is expected to work approximately 30-40 hours per week.
