Job summary

Purple Innovation, LLC in Illinois is seeking a Warehouse Materials Handler II to support warehouse operations by inspecting, receiving, storing and distributing materials. The role runs Monday–Friday, 11:30 a.m.–7:30 p.m., and requires physical work including forklift operation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of warehouse experience.
• Ability to operate forklift, pallet stretch-wrapping, and baling machines.
• Knowledge of quality standards and health & safety regulations.
• Experience reporting inventory control metrics.
• Proficient in MS Office and ERP software.
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
• Six Sigma and Lean concepts experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming material per the Incoming Inspection Process.
• Receive material into designated locations using WMS scanner.
• Move material with forklift up to 2000 lbs.
• Maintain clean warehouse storage areas and loading docks.
• Assist in disposing of waste material from production.
• Prepare outgoing shipments with protective materials.
• Organize storage areas to support production teams.

The schedule for this role is Monday- Friday from 11:30a- 7:30p.Job DescriptionEssential Duties & Responsibilities:Performs random and initial inspections on incoming material by following the Incoming Inspection ProcessReceives material into designated locations within the warehouse using the computer or WMS scanner.Uses the inventory control system to receive, transfer, and manage materials.Operate forklifts to move material up to (and possibly exceeding) 2000 lbs, as well as operating forklifts to provide material to production areas.Maintains the cleanliness of warehouse storage areas including loading docks and outdoor storage areas.Assists in the disposal of waste material created by the production process.Prepares outgoing shipments by using protective material such as pallet stretch-wrapping, pallet banding, edge protectors, and other protective material.Organizes the material within the warehouse storage areas in a way that benefits the production teams.Required Skills, Education, Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent preferredMinimum of 1 year of experience working in a warehouse environment.Ability to operate forklifts.Ability to operate pallet stretch-wrapping machine.Ability to operate cardboard baling machine.Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulationsExperience in reporting on key Inventory Control metricsProficient in MS Office and ERP softwareOutstanding communication abilityExcellent organizational and leaderships skillsAttention to detailStrong decision-making skills and a results-driven approachExperience with Six Sigma and Lean Concepts, preferred.Physical RequirementsPhysical activities may occasionally include:Remaining in stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods of time.Adjusting or moving objects up to 15 pounds in all directions.The worker is subject to outside environmental conditions with no effective protection from weather.Physical activities may constantly include:Communicating with others to exchange information.Repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of work assigned.Environmental Conditions may occasionally include:Noisy open office environmentThe worker is subject to outside environmental conditions with no effective protection from weather.Work Hours (Good Faith Estimate):This full-time position is expected to work approximately 30-40 hours per week.
