Job summary

Yavapai County in Arizona is seeking a Part-Time Transfer Station Operator to support daily operations at the county transfer stations. Responsibilities include handling solid waste, tires, and appliances, keeping logs, processing cash transactions, and assisting with community clean-up and site maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Valid Arizona driver’s license required.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and perform manual labor in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Measures and determines tire loads and charging accordingly; collects and disposes of solid waste and dead animals from county rights-of-way; assists in removal and disposal of dead trees from county right of way and other property; assists in abatement of hazard waste sites; handles cash and maintains daily logs.
• Operates motor vehicles and equipment not requiring a CDL.
• Assists in community clean-up operations, collection and disposal of waste, tires, and appliances; assists in construction and maintenance of transfer stations.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
