Anne Arundel County – Public Works Department is seeking a Safety Sensitive Equipment Operator II in Waste Management Services. The role involves operating roll-off, bulk, rear loading trucks, backhoes, loaders, and other medium to heavy equipment, with frequent public contact and weekend overtime.

The position requires dependable, skilled operation and the ability to follow established procedures. Two years of solid experience with medium-duty equipment and a valid commercial Class B license

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in operating medium-duty motor equipment.
• A valid commercial Class B motor vehicle operator's license.
• This is a Safety Sensitive position subject to CDS and Alcohol Testing.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of solid waste hauling equipment including roll-off, bulk and rear loading trucks.
• Work with a maintenance crew and coordinate workflow as needed.
• Greet and assist the public at landfills and convenience centers; provide information on county practices.
• Receive assignments from supervisor and maintain operation logs and manifests.
• Work weekends as required and respond to emergencies.
