Job summary

Republic Services is hiring a Gate Attendant/Scale Operator in the United States to monitor waste volumes at the entry point, verify contents, and collect appropriate fees. You will accurately record volumes, balance receipts, and document loads with scales and computer systems, coordinating with operations to ensure proper processing and billing.

The role includes on-site duties and general site upkeep. Experience with cash handling and basic computer systems is preferred, with benefits

Qualifications

• Experience in a position that required handling of cash and balancing cash/receipts.
• Experience with computers and various software programs.

Responsibilities

• Determine content of material entering facility to properly bill the customer.
• Accept or reject waste load based on content; suggest alternatives.
• Receive payment from customers and provide receipts.
• Balance daily receipts and deposit into safe depository.
• Document waste entering facility using truck scales and computer systems.
• Notify operations of special waste and process related paperwork.
• Answer the telephone and provide general information to callers.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
