Job summary

A & Associates, Inc. is seeking a front-desk scale house attendant at our waste management facility in Charleston, IL. You will greet customers, verify loads, calculate payments, and ensure safety rules are followed.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and zero to four years of experience. You will perform data entry, basic reporting, and routine administrative tasks, with emphasis on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Zero to four years’ previous experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers, directs customers and other traffic, and answers questions accurately.
• Correctly calculates payments for customers.
• Ensure that incoming garbage loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material.
• Ensures that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required PPE.
• Provides general upkeep of the Scale House.
• Completes all administrative tasks including regular filing and required reports.
• Keeps supervisor informed of problems or matters requiring attention.
• Attends training and meetings as directed.
• Works overtime as needed.
• Performs other duties including data entry and minor customer service responsibilities.
