Job summary

CVS Health Corporation is seeking a Waste & Error Certified Coding Manager to lead the Certified Coding Analysts and W&E Team Lead in performing medical claim reviews, audits, and related waste and error activities. The role ensures coding accuracy, compliance, and on‑time delivery of business outcomes.

The manager will oversee staffing, performance management, workload, and escalation, while partnering with senior leaders, Medical Directors, Legal, Compliance, Analytics, and Operations.

Qualifications

• Active AAPC Certified Coder CPC, CCS, RHIT or RN license required or could be considered.
• 5+ years of medical coding, claims review, auditing, payment integrity, fraud, waste, abuse, or error review.
• 2+ years of people leadership, supervisory, or team management experience.
• Experience leading coding quality programs, productivity management, and remediation activities.
• Strong knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, CMS 1500, UB-04, and reimbursement rules.
• Experience researching state, federal, CMS, and organizational policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Certified Coding Analysts and Senior Certified Coding Analysts.
• Oversee coding audits, workload, and quality standards.
• Ensure adherence to CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Medical Directors, and leadership.
• Drive performance metrics, process improvements, and audits readiness.
