Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Waste & Error Certified Coding Manager to lead the Certified Coding Analysts and Team Lead in medical claim reviews, audits, and compliance. You will set priorities, drive productivity, and ensure coding accuracy across CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10.

This hybrid role requires strong leadership, audit readiness, and collaboration with Legal, Compliance, Medical Directors, and Operations. A high school diploma and active coding certification with 5+ years of experience are

Qualifications

• Active AAPC Certified Coder CPC, CCS, RHIT or RN license with significant coding/auditing experience.
• 5+ years of experience in medical coding, claims review, auditing, or payment integrity.
• 2+ years of people leadership, supervision, or team management.
• Experience leading coding quality programs and productivity management.
• Proficiency with CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, CMS 1500/UB-04 and reimbursement rules.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Certified Coding Analysts and Senior Certified Coding Analysts.
• Oversee staffing, onboarding, training, and retention for the coding team.
• Provide operational oversight for medical record reviews and coding audits.
• Manage work queues, priorities, and service-level expectations.
• Ensure adherence to coding guidelines, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional partners to deliver outcomes.
• Monitor quality, performance metrics, and implement improvement actions.
