Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC, through its Worldwide Environmental Assurance and Protection (EAP) team, drives regulated waste compliance across multiple California sites and translates regulatory requirements into scalable, zero-defect processes protecting customers, communities, and the environment.

The Risk Specialist I executes site-level environmental compliance plans, conducts audits, maintains hazardous waste records, and partners with operations to meet milestones in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in environmental compliance or regulated waste management.
• Experience interpreting environmental regulations (RCRA, DOT, state rules).
• Experience collecting and analyzing data to identify compliance gaps.

Responsibilities

• Own execution of regulated waste compliance projects across sites incl. SOPs and inspection routines.
• Apply waste compliance audits and site inspections to monitor thresholds and take corrective action.
• Collaborate with site teams and operations to clarify requirements and drive discussions.
• Identify process improvements to reduce risk and improve conformance.
• Prepare documentation including status reports, audit results, and metrics for stakeholders.
• Travel up to 50% of the time.
