Job summary

City of Roswell seeks a Refuse Collector to join our Environmental/Public Works team on a full-time basis. The role collects garbage and yard trash on assigned routes, replaces bins, and ensures complete removal while following safety procedures.

The position requires a High School Diploma and at least six months of experience or equivalent training. Physically demanding work with frequent interaction with residents and coordination with a supervisor.

Qualifications

• Ability to retain information regarding garbage/trash pick-up instructions.
• Ability to compile and transcribe data per prescribed plan.
• Ability to communicate information clearly with supervisor and customers.
• Ability to operate garbage trucks and related tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Collect garbage and yard trash on assigned routes.
• Replace and position garbage bins; ensure complete removal.
• Follow safety procedures and wear required safety equipment.
• Respond to customer questions and report issues to supervisor.
• Operate packer and basic tools as needed; maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Coordinate with others to ensure timely service and status updates.
