Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Commercial Helper I to ride on the vehicle and assist a Driver in delivering prompt waste removal services along a designated residential route. You will help safely load waste, carry bags and containers to the vehicle, and direct the Driver from the ground when maneuvering the vehicle.

You will maintain vehicle cleanliness, perform basic inspections, and ensure safety and customer service standards are met on every trip.

Qualifications

• Two years of relevant work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ride on the vehicle to assist the Driver while servicing customers on a designated route.
• Operate packing mechanism and lifting/loading controls to load waste.
• Clean waste from the packer blade and truck body after each trip and spray/clean hopper as needed.
• Perform pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections and report safety issues.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers and co-workers to ensure timely service.
• Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle and work area and follow safety policies.
