Job summary

Burrtec is a long-established refuse and recycling company serving Southern California. The Driver will operate a range of heavy-duty trucks to collect waste and recyclables from residential, commercial, and industrial sites while following routes, schedules, safety rules, and DOT regulations.

Salary ranges from $31.65 to $34.00 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package, including 401K and 100% paid medical/dental/life insurance and holidays/vacations.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B CDL with no air brake restrictions.
• MVRs reviewed before or during application and ongoing via the EPN program.
• Clean driving record with no major violations or DUI within 3 years.
• One year of work experience as a Commercial Driver required.
• Waste management/transportation experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English and understand route sheets.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial vehicles (e.g., automated side loader, front-/rear-loaders, roll-off, transfer trucks) safely.
• Follow designated routes and schedules for waste collection.
• Load waste using hydraulic lifts or compactors.
• Complete routes on time and maintain efficiency.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report issues promptly.
• Maintain clean cab; ensure on-board camera system is not tampered with.
• Adhere to DOT regulations and company policies.
