Job summary

Republic Services is hiring a Driver- CDL (B) responsible for safely operating a collection truck and delivering prompt, courteous waste removal services. The role emphasizes safety compliance, daily vehicle condition reporting, and adherence to all regulations to ensure reliable service at customer sites.

The position includes completing VCRs, following routes, interacting with customers, and maintaining high safety standards as part of daily duties and company policies.

Qualifications

• Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s license with air brakes endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle to ensure tires, fluids, safety equipment, gauges and controls work properly.
• Safely operate the heavy truck along the route and service each customer as identified on the route sheet.
• Read route sheets, follow maps and comply with dispatcher or supervisor directions.
• Load refuse using manual and/or automatic controls, operate the packer and dispose of material at the facility.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers and others to ensure timely, professional service.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers according to procedures.
• Continuously monitor waste for unacceptable material and maintain vehicle readiness to minimize downtime.
• Complete required route productivity sheets, VCRs and other reports.
• Adhere to productivity standards and safety policies; participate in the ReSOP program.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
