Job summary

Reed Smith LLP seeks an experienced litigation attorney with robust practice in Washington state courts to support a busy commercial litigation portfolio. The role requires handling varied matters, drafting pleadings, and coordinating with local and out-of-state counsel.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of WA litigation experience, strong knowledge of local procedures, and excellent written and oral communication skills.

Qualifications

• Active license to practice law in Washington in good standing.
• At least five years of litigation experience in Washington state and federal courts.
• Strong knowledge of Washington civil procedure and local court rules.
• Demonstrated experience with case management, legal writing, and courtroom advocacy.
• Preference for experience defending commercial litigation involving consumer disputes or premises liability.

Responsibilities

• Manage and defend a variety of litigation matters in WA and federal courts; develop litigation strategies.
• Draft, review, and revise pleadings, motions, discovery, settlements, and other documents.
• Conduct legal research and provide business-focused legal analysis.
• Coordinate with outside counsel and stakeholders; assist pro hac vice appearances when needed.
• Monitor deadlines, court rules, and case developments to drive timely resolutions.
