United Petroleum Transports Inc is seeking a Wash Bay Attendant to maintain equipment and facility cleanliness in the wash bay and adjacent areas. You will promote safety, perform building exterior upkeep, and process wash tickets per policy.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to lift up to 100 lbs, and strong attention to detail. You will follow DOT regulations and company standards, communicating with the Shop Manager as needed and supporting a safe, efficient wash bay environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Promote safety in all actions
  • Maintain the exterior of the building
  • Pick up trash
  • Prepare and complete wash tickets in a timely manner in compliance with company policy
  • Work effectively and safely within the wash bay and shop area without supervision
  • Comply with and continually update knowledge of all DOT regulations, federal, state, local and company standards and requirements
  • Properly use cleaning equipment that may weigh as much as 100 lbs
  • Insure proper treatment of hoses that are 20’ in length, up to 4” wide, and may weigh up to 75lbs
  • Insure proper treatment of leaded drums that may weigh up to 100 lbs
  • Communicate with Shop Manager as required
  • Carries out duties assigned by Shop Manager as required

Education

High School Education or equivalent
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects

Job description

The Wash Bay Attendant is responsible for maintaining the physical upkeep of the equipment and property. Additionally, they will maintain the cleanliness of both tractors and trailers as required by company standards.What a Wash Bay Attendant does daily:Promote safety in all actionsMaintain the exterior of the buildingPick up trashPrepare and complete wash tickets in a timely manner in compliance with company policyWork effectively and safely within the wash bay and shop area without supervisionComply with and continually update knowledge of all DOT regulations, federal, state, local and company standards and requirements regarding:Personal safety when performing cleaning operations on tractors and/or trailersMaintaining an environment of cleanliness and safety within the wash bayDisposal of all waste products, both hazardous and non-hazardous.Properly use cleaning equipment that may weigh as much as 100 lbs.Properly disassemble, inspect, clean and reassemble tank appurtenances that include but are not limited to vents, valves, clean-out caps, clamps, loading/unloading lines, gaskets and other equipment that is to be cleaned as per normal tank cleaning procedureInsure proper treatment of hoses that are 20’ in length, up to 4” wide, and may weigh up to 75lbsInsure proper treatment of leaded drums that may weigh up to 100 lbsCommunicate with Shop Manager as requiredAdditional Responsibilities:Carries out duties assigned by Shop Manager as requiredEducation:High School Education or equivalentKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projectsSelf-starter with detail oriented work habitsDisplay professional demeanorGood interpersonal skills; able to work well with wide range of individualsDemonstrate dependability through good attendance and adherence to timelines and schedulesKnowledge of basic company employment policies and proceduresPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand for extended periods of time on a concrete floor; repeatedly reach above shoulder level an unlimited numbers of times daily, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, stoop, kneel, squat, finger dexterity, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual activityOccasional lifting (up to 100 pounds)Working Conditions:Normal Wash Bay environment (concrete floors)Work on sometimes uneven and/or slippery surfaces
