Job summary

Imlers Poultry in Kentucky is seeking a Wash Bay Associate to maintain the cleanliness of company trucks, trailers, equipment, and wash bay areas, while following safety, sanitation, and food safety procedures. You will perform wash, sanitation, and basic maintenance tasks to ensure readiness for daily operations.

Responsibilities include washing interiors and exteriors, removing debris, operating pressure washers, handling cleaning chemicals, and ensuring proper waste disposal.

Qualifications

  • Follow verbal and written instructions safely and accurately.

  • Dependable attendance and punctuality for shift schedules.
  • Able to operate washing and sanitation equipment safely.
  • Sanitation, warehouse or vehicle washing experience preferred but not required.
  • Adhere to all safety, sanitation and food safety requirements.

  • Operate pressure washers, hoses and sprayers safely.
  • Use cleaning chemicals per procedures and instructions.
  • Scrub and rinse truck/trailer floors and walls; maintain wash bay cleanliness.
  • Dispose of trash and waste properly.
  • Inspect equipment to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
  • Report damage or hazards to a supervisor.
  • Follow all safety and food safety policies.
  • Assist with other warehouse or sanitation duties as needed.

Job description

Requirements

The Wash Bay Associate is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of company trucks, trailers, equipment, and designated wash bay areas. This position helps ensure equipment is clean, sanitary, and ready for daily operations while following company safety, sanitation, and food safety procedures.

Essential Functions
  • Wash and sanitize the interior and exterior of company trucks and trailers as assigned.
  • Remove dirt, debris, food residue, grease, and other materials from equipment and surfaces.
  • Operate pressure washers, hoses, sprayers, and other cleaning equipment safely.
  • Use cleaning chemicals and sanitizers according to company procedures and manufacturer instructions.
  • Sweep, scrub, rinse, and clean truck and trailer floors, walls, doors, and other surfaces.
  • Maintain a clean and organized wash bay and surrounding work area.
  • Properly dispose of trash, debris, and other waste.
  • Inspect cleaned equipment to ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards have been met.
  • Report damaged equipment, safety hazards, leaks, or other concerns to a supervisor.
  • Follow all company safety, SQF, sanitation, and food safety policies and procedures.
  • Wear required non-slip shoes
  • Assist with other warehouse, sanitation, or general labor duties as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Physical Requirements

Employees must be able to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, squat, reach, push, pull, and twist.
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Safely climb in and out of trucks and trailers.
  • Work around wet and slippery surfaces.
  • Work in hot, cold, wet, and changing temperature conditions.
  • Safely handle cleaning chemicals and sanitation products while wearing required PPE.
  • Perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift.
Qualifications
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Dependable attendance and ability to report to work as scheduled.
  • Ability to safely operate cleaning and wash bay equipment.
  • Previous sanitation, warehouse, or commercial vehicle washing experience is preferred but not required.
  • Must follow all company safety, sanitation, and food safety requirements.
Work Environment

This position is performed primarily in a wet wash bay environment and may involve exposure to water, cleaning chemicals, varying temperatures, vehicle traffic, noise, and slippery surfaces. Appropriate PPE and safe work practices must be followed at all times.
