Job summary

Mortenson Construction seeks a Quality Engineer II to lead end-to-end warranty claim administration for utility-scale BESS projects. You will serve as the primary contact for customers, operations teams, subcontractors, and suppliers throughout the warranty period, ensuring timely evaluation, disposition, and closure.

You will drive accountability across stakeholders, maintain portfolio oversight, and protect customer relationships while controlling warranty costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Self-starter and independent worker with basic construction knowledge.
• Willingness to travel and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage intake, triage, and tracking of BESS warranty claims from notification to closeout.
• Ensure documentation, troubleshooting records, photos, and information are provided for evaluation.
• Coordinate with project teams, suppliers, OEMs, subcontractors, and field operations for corrective actions.
• Assign resources and drive repair, replacement, or remediation activities.
• Maintain claim status and ensure timely follow-up and escalation as needed.
• Communicate with customers and O&M teams, providing regular progress updates.
• Monitor warranty response times, aging claims, and performance metrics.
• Maintain warranty records and develop reporting on volume, status, root causes, and budgets.
• Identify trends and systemic issues and coordinate corrective actions.
• Assist project closeout and warranty handoff with complete documentation turnover.
• Verify completion of corrective actions and obtain confirmation prior to closing events.
• Continuously improve warranty processes and reporting to reduce cycle times.
