Job summary

Experis is seeking an Automotive Warranty & Failure Analysis Engineer to join our on-site team in Auburn Hills, MI. You will perform warranty part analysis and failure investigations, applying structured problem-solving methods to identify root causes.

You will collaborate with design, supplier quality, manufacturing and service teams to implement corrective actions and drive product reliability improvements, while leveraging CAD skills and industry knowledge in a dynamic, quality-focused

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering required.
• 5-10 years in automotive warranty analysis, product/quality/failure analysis.
• Strong understanding of automotive mechanical systems and fundamentals.
• Experience with teardown analysis and component diagnostics.
• Ability to read CAD drawings, engineering specs and test reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed warranty part analysis and failure investigations.
• Conduct root cause analysis using 8D, Fishbone, 5 Why, FMEA, fault tree analysis.
• Analyze failed components related to transmission, gearbox, axles, and driveline systems.
• Support disposition activities including teardown analysis, repairability assessment, containment actions.

Our client is seeking a Automotive Warranty & Failure Analysis Engineer to join their team. As a Warranty & Failure Analysis Engineer, you will be part of the quality assurance and engineering support teams.

Job Title: Automotive Warranty & Failure Analysis Engineer

Location: Auburn Hills, MI (On Site)

Pay range: $30-$36 per hour on W2

What's the Job?

• Perform detailed warranty part analysis and failure investigations for returned field components.
• Conduct root cause analysis using engineering methodologies such as 8D, Fishbone, 5 Why, FMEA, and fault tree analysis.
• Analyze failed components related to transmission, gearbox, axles, and driveline systems.
• Support disposition activities including teardown analysis, repairability assessment, and containment actions.
• Collaborate with design engineering, supplier quality, manufacturing, and service teams to drive corrective and preventive actions.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• 5-10 years of experience in automotive warranty analysis, product engineering, quality engineering, or failure analysis.
• Strong understanding of automotive mechanical systems and fundamental engineering concepts.
• Experience with teardown analysis and component diagnostics.
• Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, engineering specifications, and test reports.
