Job summary

Our Next Energy is seeking a Warranty Analytics & Reliability Engineer to lead warranty analytics, failure analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will translate field data into actionable insights, build dashboards, and partner with Finance, Supply Chain, and Engineering.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in Excel, SQL, and BI tools.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, FMEA).
  • Experience with reliability testing, failure analysis, and product validation.
  • Familiarity with ERP and warranty management systems.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking.
  • Cross-functional leadership and influence.
  • Strong communication skills (technical and executive-level).
  • Attention to detail with ability to synthesize complex data.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze warranty claims, returns (RMA), and field performance data to identify trends and issues.
  • Develop dashboards tracking key warranty metrics (claim rates, cost per unit, failure modes).
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to leadership on warranty performance and financial exposure.
  • Support warranty forecasting and reserve modeling with Finance.
  • Lead structured root cause investigations using 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone analysis.
  • Conduct failure analysis including teardown, testing, and data evaluation.
  • Partner with internal engineering teams and external suppliers to validate failure modes.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of findings and conclusions.
  • Drive CAPA across design, manufacturing, and supplier processes.
  • Track and validate effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure containment of field issues to minimize customer impact.
  • Support ECOs and process improvements.
  • Translate field failure data into inputs for DFMEA and PFMEA updates.
  • Collaborate with product and manufacturing engineering to improve reliability.
  • Support validation and verification testing for design or process changes.
  • Establish and refine reliability targets, test plans, and acceptance criteria.
  • Monitor warranty spend against forecast and budget.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities and support implementation.
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Quality for supplier recovery and chargebacks.
