Job summary

Beemok Hospitality Collection (BHC) in Charleston is seeking a friendly Host to warmly welcome guests and help start a positive dining experience. You will manage reservations, seating, and waitlists, coordinating with servers to ensure seamless service.

The role requires solid communication skills, basic computer skills, and knowledge of POS systems and menu items. A customer-service mindset and hospitality experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior hospitality or food & beverage experience preferred.
• Strong written and spoken English for guest, supplier and colleague communication.
• Ability to read and write to facilitate communication processes.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Knowledge of POS systems.
• Knowledge of table settings and service ware.
• Ability to describe menu items, prices and preparation methods.
• Ability to use suggestive selling techniques to promote house specialties.
• Knowledge of products and specifications in the dinner menu.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly on entry and assess seating preferences.
• Escort guests to tables and present menus for a welcoming experience.
• Communicate wait times to guests and keep them informed while they wait.
• Manage reservations and maintain an organized seating chart for efficiency.
• Use reservations or waitlist system to assign tables based on reservations and sections.
• Update waitlist and ensure prompt seating as tables become available.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the host station and entrance area.
• Ensure menus are clean and presentable, replacing damaged menus as needed.
