Job summary

UNCOMN is seeking a Wargames Analyst (Functional Consultant) to provide expert-level support to administration, planning, and execution of USTRANSCOM-led wargames, articulate concepts for inclusion, and help develop CONOPs.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of related experience (or a Master's with 4+), active Secret clearance with Top Secret preferred, and travel within CONUS/OCONUS. Knowledge of DoD logistics and Joint Staff processes is valuable.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance or higher required; Top Secret preferred.
• Experience with HQ Staff, Joint Staff, OSW, CCMDs, and partners is valued.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level support to administration, planning, and execution of wargames.

UNCOMN is seeking a Wargames Analyst (Functional Consultant) to:

• Provide expert-level support to administration, planning, and execution, and conduct after-action activities, including reports and analysis for USTRANSCOM-led wargames.
• Articulate concepts and capabilities for inclusion in wargames.
• Support development, execution, and revision of Wargame Concept of Operations (CONOPs).
• Participate in wargame planning meetings/events to advocate for the inclusion/consideration of USTRANSCOM deployment and distribution equities.
• Utilize transportation, logistics, and operational experience to assist in wargame preparation and planning.
• Communicate logistics lessons-learned and identified gaps relevant to the Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise (JDDE) for inclusion in After-Action Reports and concept development.
• Gather, fuse, and incorporate multi-source information across multiple organizations related to Wargame Planning and Execution.
• Author summary of upcoming Service, Global Combatant Commands (GCC), and Joint Staff (JS) Wargames to assist USTRANSCOM leadership in determining the potential benefits of Command participation.
• Communicate progress of wargame planning efforts both verbally and in writing.

This position description outlines the core duties for this role, but it is not all-inclusive. Responsibilities may shift based on contract requirements, mission needs, or organizational objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of related experience or a master's degree and 4+ years of related experience; This should include 3+ years supporting HQ Staff, including Joint Staff, Office of the Secretary of War (OSW), Combatant Commands (CCMDs), Service HQ Staffs, and Allies and/or Partners.
• Active Secret clearance or higher, granted by the US Government. Active Top Secret clearance preferred.
• Comfortable with monthly (estimated) travel within CONUS and/or OCONUS.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment by prioritizing and managing multiple tasks while proactively anticipating future needs.
• Ability to work with Senior-Level Staff Officers and Civilians (GO/FO/SES).
• Understanding of DoW Joint Planning and Operations.
• Knowledge and/or experience with DoD logistics, distribution, transportation, supply chain, and strategy, including knowledge of U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) operations, issues, and priorities.
• Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while positively representing UNCOMN, its clients, and partners.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, presentation development, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a high-performing team.

Preferred

• Active Top Secret clearance.
• Wargames and/or Exercise Planning experience.
• MA/MS/MBA degree in Business Management, Information Processes, or Logistics.
• Understanding of the competition continuum (competition, crisis, and conflict).
