Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois is seeking a specialist to manage hard goods processing, pricing, and display readiness in our retail store. You will sort wares, examine condition, and assign prices based on guidelines to balance value and fairness.

This role requires standing, lifting, and working weekend/evening shifts, with a focus on accuracy, safety, and friendly customer service while supporting team operations.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent; training and experience may be considered.
• Knowledge of collectibles or antiques preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and internet use.
• Ability to count, add, and subtract.
• Able to operate pricing gun and price merchandise.
• Ability to follow safety rules and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Processes hard goods (wares, electrical, furniture, books, shoes, accessories) and sorts by category.
• Prices items accurately, balancing price with true value for customers.
• Separates materials into sales, salvage, and seasonal categories.
• Identifies items priced by management or suitable for ecommerce.
• Maintains clean, safe work area and follows Kaizen standards.
• Promotes customer service and teamwork across the store.
